The Jordan ICT Association-int@j in partnership with the Ministry of Information and Communications Technology is launching a specialized Universities survey aiming at publishing the ICT Workforce Assessment Report; assessing the gap between the ICT private sector demand and the academia supply of skilled human resources, acquiring feedback from Universities to further measure their collaboration with the industry and collect more statistical information in June 2012.Therefore, int@j in partnership with the Ministry of Information and Communications Technology are encouraging public and private Jordanian Universities to participate in the survey by providing feedback to create clear collaboration opportunities between Academia professionals ‘Universities’ and the ICT private sector. The study includes two phases, the first of which is specialized for universities, while the second phase will be assessing the private sector perception of academia output and labor qualifications.The Workforce Assessment Survey aims at assessing the current ICT competencies’ needs as well as forecasting future dynamics, in addition to assessing the potential contribution of ICT companies in enhancing relevant educational curricula while promoting collaboration and developing partnerships for co-operation between ICT companies and Academia. It is worth mentioning that the report is a biannual study that will be the third to be published for the year 2012; as int@j in cooperation with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology have issued the report previously in the years 2008 and 2010.The Information and Communications Technology Association of Jordan is an ICT and ICTES industry-support association founded in 2000 with the aim of improving the dynamics of Jordan's ICT & ICTES markets and developing the Kingdom's ICT & ICTES related activities, and includes more than 210 local and global companies working in IT, Telecom, and IT enabled services (Outsourcing).Since its establishment, Int@j has been exerting a high effort level aiming at advancing the Jordanian ICT & ICTES sector. Int@j has been looking for various partnerships with different institutions on the local, regional and international levels aiming at creating better ICT and ICTES industry in Jordan, increasing the awareness of ICT and ICTES services and products and stressing on the benefits of integrating ICT and ICTES in other sectors.
