Basem Rousan For his achievements and dedicated services, and to welcome the new Minister of ICT H.E. Mr. Marwan Juma. The event took place on Monday January 25, 2010 at the Four Seasons Hotel-Amman and was sponsored by Umniah.

Under the Patronage of Marwan Juma – Minister of ICT, the Information Technology Association of Jordan - Int@j held its ICT Connect event. The event took place on Tuesday January 12, 2010 at the Four Seasons Hotel-Amman - to welcome of Marwan Juma as the new Minister of ICT and discuss the future and plans of the ICT Sector. The event was attended by HE Marwan Juma and the majority of Int@j members and stakeholders of the ICT sector.

First Google Advertizing Professional Training Program in Jordan a Success

Amman, Jordan – (December 2009) – The American Chamber of Commerce in Jordan (AmCham-Jordan) and the Information Technology Association of Jordan (Int@j) partnered with Google to offer the “Google Advertising Professional Program” (GAP) for the first time in Amman. The program held on December 13-14 at the Sheraton Amman Al Nabil Hotel & Towers it was attended by more than fifty Jordanian professionals, and internet was provided by Mada communications. “GAP” is designed for companies that want to manage multiple online advertising campaigns and channel their ads to the appropriate audience.

In the spirit of the holy month of Ramadan, the ICT Association of Jordan – int@j, hosted a grand Ramadan Iftar yesterday Wednesday, September the 16th 2009 at the Sheraton Hotel. The grand iftar was attended by the Minister of ICT in Jordan, H.E Mr. Bassem Al Rousan, int@j Chairman Marwan Juman, int@j members and partners, and the CEO of Maktoob.com, Mr. Samih Toukan. The event was sponsored by the USAID Jordan Economic Development Program – (SABEQ).

On Monday, August 31, The American Chamber of Commerce in Jordan – AmCham Jordan (The Jordanian American Business Association) hosted H.E. Dr. Ghazi Shbeikat, Minister of Labor, at a policy dialogue Iftar with its members and leading Jordanian businesses and associations. During the event, AmCham Jordan and the Information Technology Association of Jordan – int@j announced in the presence of H.E. Dr. Ghazi Shbeikat that the leading internet giant Google joined the member ranks of both organizations as of September 1, 2009.

Google and Int@j Raising Efforts to Develop the ICT Sub- Sectors in Jordan

In line with Int@j efforts in developing the ICT sector in the Kingdom, the association has raised the priority targeted to develop the ICT sub- sectors by providing a workshop conducted by Mr. Husni Khaffash, the Country Business Development Manager for Google, which addressed the needs and challenges that local content providers are facing in order to develop the business environment they operate in.

Following up on His Majesty King Abdullah 2nd earlier visit this year to Portugal, the ICT Association of Jordan – int@j conducted a trade mission to Portugal between July 12, 2009 and July 16, 2009, the delegation included a group of IT companies specialized in Education and e-Learning some of which are ITG and Rubicon, the delegation also included the Jordan Education Initiative as a main player in introducing technology into education.

INT@J Introduces The ICTES Sector to E-commerce Market Opportunities & Barriers

The Information Technology Association- Jordan (int@j), will be conducting an introductory event to highlight major cases within the e-commerce industry, and to shed light on the major opportunities and barriers to be presented by key stakeholders within the field. The event will take place on August 12th 2009, at the Sheraton hotel under the patronage of H.E Eng. Amer Al Hadidi Minister of Industry & Trade, and H.E Eng. Basem Al Rousan Minister of ICT.

Int@j and North Development Corporation Participated in an Outsourcing Conference in India

(Amman, Jordan -21 June 2009): The Information Technology Association of Jordan –Int@j and the North Development Corporation participated in the BPO Strategy Summit 2009 in India, which was organized by the National Association Of Software And Service Companies (NASSCOM) in the period between the ninth and tenth of June the current. The participation was headed by a high level delegation from both the public and private sectors represented by the Development Zones Commission, the USAID Jordan Economic Development Program (SABEQ), CrysTelCall, in addition to the North Development Corporation and int@j.
