In recognition of its outstanding and dynamic role as a strategic partner in the Bahrain e-Government Program, and on the occasion of Bahrain’s unprecedented achievement in the UN’s e-Government Readiness 2010 report, which saw Bahrain deservedly win first place in the Arab World, third in Asia, and thirteenth worldwide, STS a leading IT service and enterprise solutions provider was awarded a Certificate of Appreciation by Sheikh Ahmed Bin Ateyatallah Al Khalifa, Minister of Cabinet Affairs in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The acknowledgement came in appreciation for STS’ distinct role and diligent efforts in contributing to this remarkable achievement for the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The Bahrain e-Government project has been a true success story for STS from the beginning and throughout the implementation phase. Providing strenuous efforts and high caliber teams of professionals mixed with years of experience in the field of integrated IT solutions and services, STS, in coordination with the Bahrain e-Government Authority (EGA) has implemented several online services in record time through an integrated website portal, taking into account the needs of the citizens and general public. It should be noted that the UN’s e-Government Readiness report assesses a country’s readiness to utilize ICT through e-governance and studies the public’s access to these services. The report identifies the e-governance as a tool which increases the accessibility of information and the provisioning of government services to the public. The report also addresses three main areas to measure the progress of countries: web index, telecommunications infrastructure index, and capital index in addition to electronic participation.
Commenting on this achievement, Mr. Ramzi Zeine, STS Executive Chairman said "On behalf of STS, I would like to take this opportunity to laud the Kingdom of Bahrain for this commanding achievement on the regional and global levels, and extend my sincere thanks and gratitude to Bahrain e-Government for this award. It will undoubtedly propel us to embark upon a greater responsibility whilst continuing to provide leading edge IT solutions and services.”
For his part, Mr. Mohamed Ali Al Qaed, Chief Executive Officer, E-Government Authority in the Kingdom of Bahrain hailed the achievement and praised the role STS plays in supporting the e-Government program, and said: "We are honored today to acknowledge all who have contributed to this achievement; positioning the Kingdom of Bahrain the leader in the Arab world, third in Asia and thirteenth worldwide. We are pleased to have STS as one of our partners that contributed to this landmark achievement.”
He emphasized, "The main factor behind these results is the onerous efforts of all team members working in this field. We all work in one spirit, and that’s what distinguishes us from other countries and ranks us among the most developed in e-government."
Eng. Ahmad Masadeh, Country Manager, STS Bahrain said "E-government programs and initiatives occupy the highest priorities for the Government of Bahrain for their positive capacity in providing the best services to citizens and residents of Bahrain, in accordance with international standards and by employing the latest technologies today. We commend the Government of Bahrain and the e-Government Authority for their determination which came as a result of EGA’s vision and team efforts."
