Amman- Education for Employment (EFE-Jordan) and the American Corners at the University of Jordan and Hashemite University celebrate their partnership with the launch of the Professional Empowerment Opportunity Project (PEP), to help Jordanian university students gain necessary insights and skills to enter the workforce.

PEP will train 260 students from the University of Jordan and Hashemite University on professional development and workplace readiness skills to help them gain insights about the needs of the labor market, increase their ability to find jobs in the private sector, and contribute to Jordan’s economic growth and stability.

 

The program will feature practical training, including CV and cover letter writing, as well as sessions on job interview skills, e-mail writing techniques, and job-hunting strategies.,

Mrs. Ghadeer Khuffash, EFE-Jordan’s CEO, stated, “We are pleased with this cooperation with the American Corners, as the launch of this project is an essential step in building the capacity of young Jordanians. This contributes to our vision of empowering them economically by providing them with the right skills to create economic opportunities and facilitate their involvement in the labor market as well as enabling them to improve themselves and their communities.”

 

Ms. McKenzie Louw, Cultural Affairs Officer at the U.S. Embassy, said, “The Embassy is excited to partner with EFE to offer the Professional Empowerment Program, through our two American Corners, to such a large group of university students looking to improve their workforce readiness skills.”
