Behind every successful business is an individual who has persevered, adapted, and created an opportunity out of every challenge. And that’s why the Bank al Etihad Award for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises is back in its 7th edition!
With this award, we want to highlight businesses that have adjusted to and recovered from the difficulties born of the COVID-19 pandemic through their readiness to embrace innovative strategies that would ensure business continuity.
About the award
We’ll be accepting applications from 04/09/2022 until 15/10/2022. After this, a jury made up of representatives from the bank will select 4 finalists. Each finalist will deliver a 10-minute presentation about their business to an external jury consisting of Jordanian business leaders and entrepreneurs.
The winner will be awarded a grand prize of 50,000 JOD, to be deposited to their Bank al Etihad business account.
Eligibility
The participating business must:
- be a for-profit business
- employ no more than 200 employees
- have an annual turnover not exceeding 5,000,000 JOD
- be registered with the Jordanian Ministry of Industry Trade and Supply
- be based in Jordan
The applicant must be the legal representative of the business and be a shareholder in it, as (s)he is responsible for submitting the application on behalf of the company and representing it in all matters related to the award
The participating business cannot be a subsidiary or division of a large corporation
The business must have been registered for at least 1 year in Jordan
Evaluation criteria:
● Resilience and recovery: 50%
● Overall business strength: 30%
● Social and environmental impact: 20%
