” The European Union launches new programme to create decent job opportunities in Jordan, implemented by Alfanar.
We are thrilled to announce the launch of our new European Union co-funded programme: “Building Pathways to Sustainable Livelihoods”, in partnership with the Danish Refugee Council (DRC) and Jordanian Hashemite Fund for Human Development (JOHUD), for two years. The programme’s overall objective is to ensure that the most vulnerable in Jordan are economically empowered within an enhanced decent work environment corresponding to the Global Objective to improve income generating opportunities and access to decent jobs for refugees and their hosts.
This programme will support social enterprises and cooperatives focused on driving decent work and economic opportunity for refugees and vulnerable Jordanians in Amman, Irbid and Mafraq, contributing to economic growth by stimulating job creation, promoting innovation, and driving sustainable development through their dual focus on social impact and financial viability, while creating income-generating opportunities.
We will provide funding and management support to early-growth and growth-stage social enterprises and cooperatives – with a focus on those with employment-intensive growth potential – to support the creation of decent job opportunities, particularly in non-urban areas.
Applications are currently open for 9 early-growth stage social enterprises to participate in our 6-month SEED cycle. Selected applicants will receive funding (up to €15,000), tailored management support, training and mentorship. Apply by 17 December via our application form in English or Arabic.
By investing in locally-led social enterprises, our aim is to drive systemic change, foster sustainable solutions, and empower marginalised groups, including women, youth, migrants, and refugees.
We are committed to scaling impactful enterprises and cooperatives that align with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 8 (Decent Work & Economic Growth) and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequality), through targeted financial and technical support.
To find out more about this programme, contact us at info@alfanar.org.uk. Questions should be sent by 6 December. Please make sure to check the eligibility criteria specified in the call for application link!
