Omar Ibrahim Ayesh, CEO of Electronic Health Solutions (EHS) and the “Hakeem” program, announced that the company will complete the digitization of all public healthcare sector hospitals in Jordan by the end of this year. Ayesh stated that over the past 15 years, the company has been driving the digitization of the healthcare sector in Jordan, in line with a royal vision to enhance the level of services provided to citizens through the Royal Medical Services and the Jordanian Ministry of Health. He highlighted the company’s ongoing implementation of its various programs, including the medication delivery service, which currently operates in 184 Ministry of Health facilities and six Royal Medical Services institutions.

Ayesh emphasized that EHS is a non-profit company, fully owned by the public healthcare and technology sectors, established to support and strengthen the healthcare sector in Jordan. Since its inception in 2009, EHS has been leading the digital transformation of healthcare in Jordan by leveraging technology to provide effective digital solutions that improve the quality and efficiency of public healthcare services. This transformation has been carried out in collaboration with key stakeholders, including the Ministries of Health and Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, Royal Medical Services, King Hussein Cancer Foundation, Royal Health Awareness Society, Private Hospitals Association, and the King Abdullah II Fund for Development.

Ayesh noted that the company initially launched its efforts with pilot projects between 2009 and 2011 at Prince Hamzah Hospital and the Comprehensive Amman Health Center. Following the success of these pilots, His Majesty King Abdullah II directed the expansion of the “Hakeem” program to all public healthcare facilities. Over the past 15 years, the number of digitized healthcare institutions has grown to 285, covering facilities under the Royal Medical Services, Ministry of Health, and King Hussein Cancer Center.

The “Hakeem” program offers a range of digital services to patients through the “My Hakeem” platform and mobile application, with 187,206 users from the Ministry of Health and 27,457 users from the Royal Medical Services. The app serves as a digital gateway, providing access to various health services, including viewing information documented in the medical record, current prescribed medications, allergies, immunizations, lab test results, vital signs, and radiology reports. The medication delivery service has also enabled patients to request monthly medications, resulting in the delivery of 49,771 medication packages since the service was launched.

Ayesh anticipates that additional Royal Medical Services facilities will be incorporated into the program later this year as part of the company’s ongoing digital transformation strategy, which has been in motion since its founding in 2009. The app also offers an appointment scheduling feature, which has benefited 2,647 users and is currently available in four hospitals and three health centers under the Ministry of Health.

Recently, EHS has enhanced its collaboration with the Ministry of Health and the Greater Amman Municipality to develop a digital health certificate for professionals in industrial and craft occupations, which can be accessed through the “My Hakeem” app. The company has also upgraded the “Hakeem” system to the latest version, “VistA 32,” similar to the system used in the United States.
