Echo Technology Company and the Amman Chamber of Industry have signed a joint cooperation agreement to develop the first online platform for industrial waste exchange in Jordan. The signing ceremony took place at the Chamber’s headquarters, where the agreement was signed by Dr. Nael Husami, General Manager of the Amman Chamber of Industry, and Eng. Yousef Al-Alem, CEO of Echo Technology Company.

The agreement focuses on promoting the principles of environmental and economic sustainability by designing an innovative platform that supports Jordanian industries in sustainably reusing industrial waste. This initiative is expected to reduce both environmental and economic costs.

This collaboration falls under the framework of the “Enhancing Green Activities in Industrial Facilities” project, supported by the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) and funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). The project aims to provide a significant boost to the implementation of best environmental practices within Jordan’s industrial sector.

The platform aspires to achieve a significant transformation in industrial waste management by:

  • Fostering a circular economy: Optimizing resource use and minimizing waste.
  • Encouraging industrial collaboration: Connecting factories generating waste with those that can use it as raw material.
  • Reducing environmental impact: Minimizing waste sent to traditional landfills.

The platform aims to drive investments in environmental technology and waste exchange, enhancing Jordan’s regional competitiveness in sustainable development. This initiative represents a critical step in the digital transformation of the industrial sector and aligns with broader efforts to support environmental sustainability and achieve Jordan’s vision of advancing the circular economy.
