As part of its 2020–2025 sustainability strategy and ongoing commitment to enhancing Jordan’s green cover and supporting national efforts to combat climate change, Zain Jordan organised a series of volunteer activities to plant a total of 600 trees—both forest and fruit-bearing—at Hussein Youth City.
The events were held with participation from Zain Jordan employees, members of the Harley Owners Group (HOG) in Jordan, Vespa Jordan Riders, and in the presence of Hussein Youth City Director General Bassam Al-Khalaileh. These environmental initiatives reflect Zain’s commitment to making a lasting positive impact by expanding green areas and supporting eco-projects that help restore environmental balance and reduce carbon emissions. They also underline the company’s environmental responsibility since its establishment, aiming to integrate environmental and economic sustainability.
This initiative also aligns with Zain’s efforts to promote a culture of volunteerism among Jordanians and encourage eco-friendly practices for a more sustainable future for coming generations.
To date, Zain has planted a total of 18,250 trees across various regions in Jordan through its environmental campaigns. The company continues its environmental efforts through active local partnerships, most notably its strategic cooperation with the Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature to support the sustainability of the “Maloul” tree—the national tree of Jordan—within the Yarmouk Forest Reserve. These efforts have included rehabilitating parts of the reserve, restoring deteriorating trees, funding the project, and providing Maloul trees, in addition to designating a section of the reserve in Zain’s name and planting it with 250 trees.
Zain also supports underprivileged Jordanian farmers through its participation in the “Green Caravan” project with the Arab Group for the Protection of Nature, by assisting owners of unutilised farmland affected by economic hardship, helping them generate sustainable income and achieve economic empowerment. So far, 55 farmers have benefited from this support.
Additionally, Zain continues to develop its private forest located in the Thaghrat Asfour area of Jerash Governorate in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture and the Forestry Directorate.
