INVITATION: Job Matching Pilot for Syrian Refugees

Warm greetings from intaj’s Women Economic Empowerment Unit – SHETECHS,

UN Women Jordan is pleased to share an invitation to an upcoming information session facilitated by UN Women and organised by UNHCR, in partnership with Bayt.com, on a new job-matching pilot connecting returning Syrian refugees from Jordan with employment opportunities in Syria.

This session will be of particular relevance to companies that:

  • Have existing branches or operations in Syria;
  • Are planning to expand operations into Syria; or
  • Offer remote employment opportunities accessible to residents inside Syria.

About the pilot

The UNHCR–Bayt.com pilot aims to support a market-based approach to reintegration by:

  1. Facilitating employment opportunities in Syria for refugees preparing for voluntary return, while leveraging existing market infrastructure;
  2. Reducing dependency by focusing on income generation;
  3. Supporting sustainable and economically viable voluntary return;
  4. Strengthening private-sector engagement in reintegration efforts and operationalising the humanitarian–development nexus; and
  5. Testing a scalable model that links humanitarian transition with labour market access.

As part of this initiative, Bayt.com has committed 500 free job vacancy postings for employers recruiting in Syria over the coming year, enabling participating companies to post vacancies at no cost and access qualified Syrian professionals.

During the session, UNHCR and Bayt.com will:

  • Present the pilot and its implementation approach;
  • Explain how interested employers can participate; and
  • Outline the support available to companies throughout the process.
