PROMOTING INVESTMENT AND BUSINESS CLIMATE REFORMS IN JORDAN’S ICT SECTOR

       
     

In the context of the EU-OECD Programme on Investment in the Mediterranean, the OECD is organizing a private sector dialogue on promoting investment and business climate reforms in Jordan’s ICT sector on 17th of June 2021, 11:00-13:30 (Amman time)

 

The purpose of this virtual meeting is to discuss the main challenges facing the ICT sector with the aim of selecting a number of policy priorities to improve the enabling environment for investments in ICT.

 

Participants will be asked to provide their views on three sets of challenges, namely the business and regulatory environment, infrastructure, ICT costs and skills as well as on the way forward to promote public-private dialogues as an effective tool for investment and business climate reforms in the ICT sector.

 

The overall objective is to reach a common view on the challenges and identify reform priorities.

 

The webinar will be structured around the main challenges for investing in the ICT sector. The discussion will be guided by an issues paper on the ICT sector in Jordan with a set of questions for participants. It will be moderated by the OECD and introduced by brief interventions (5 minutes).

 

Following these, all participants will have the possibility to share their views through an open discussion by preparing a short intervention of 3-4 minutes on the challenges for investing in the ICT sector as outlined, according to the following AGENDA
