Warm Greetings,
We’re excited to share the latest edition of Ipsos Spotlight*Iraq series: Spotlight*Iraq – Views on Tech & Digital Trends
In Iraq, technology plays a central role in everyday life, with digital habits anchored in personal connections.
For Iraqis, social media is less about discovery and more about maintaining relationships, with the majority using WhatsApp and nearly 8 in 10 saying their main reason for being online is to stay connected with family and friends.
Beyond social platforms, Iraqis are enthusiastic users of practical digital tools. VoIP calls, video streaming, and food delivery have become part of everyday routine, reflecting the role of technology in simplifying daily life. At the same time, adoption of advanced services is still limited, highlighting a digital landscape that is functional but not yet fully advanced.
Adoption trends in Iraq reveal a split between early movers and cautious users. While 3 in 10 are eager to try new tools and trends, just as many prefer to stick with the familiar. This mix of early adopters, followers, and laggards shapes a market where innovation is growing steadily but cautiously.
