The Jordan Payments and Clearing Company (JoPACC), through its Fintech Incubator (JOIN), announced the launch of its first training course for university students, designed to educate and equip them with the fundamental concepts and principles of financial technology (Fintech). The introduction of this training program aligns with JOIN Fincubator’s strategic objectives, particularly enabling access to financial technology expertise.

During six weeks, a group of seventy students from four universities in Jordan, located in Amman and Aqaba, namely Al Hussein Technical University, the Hashemite University, the University of Jordan – Aqaba, and the Aqaba University of Technology, will be enrolled in the “FinTech Fundamentals” course. It is worth mentioning that the participating universities in Amman will play host to these training courses, while NaiTel, a leading networking, and internet solutions provider, will serve as the venue for the course in Aqaba.

Through this thoughtfully curated course, students will delve into a variety of crucial topics such as the impact of FinTech on financial services, cybersecurity and data privacy, API and data management, the design thinking methodology for problem-solving and validation, FinTech business models, and analysis of FinTech case studies with industry experts. A team of seasoned financial technology professionals will lead this comprehensive training course.

JOIN Fincubator is crucial in educating and empowering aspiring youth in financial technology. Through its comprehensive expert guidance, young entrepreneurs are equipped with the essential skills and knowledge needed to thrive in this dynamic industry. The center actively engages with key stakeholders from the financial sector, academic institutions, and public and private sector organizations to foster collaboration and knowledge exchange. Through its programs, the center is dedicated to establishing Jordan as the region’s preeminent and thriving hub for financial technology.

On Sunday, July 23, members of Estarta’s Public Relations team participated in a key event by attending the Injaz Corporates Contact Person meeting at the Hilton Amman. The core agenda of this gathering was to delve into the realms of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and the importance of volunteerism in today’s corporate landscape.

During the meeting, a number of professionals shared insights, experiences, and best practices pertaining to the topic. There were several open discussions as well.

The focus on volunteerism served as a key aspect of the discussions, highlighting how businesses can actively contribute to society’s betterment by encouraging their employees to volunteer their time and skills. This includes volunteerism in the educational sector, demonstrating how business professionals can share their knowledge and pass it on to the next generations.

By actively engaging in volunteer activities, companies can not only give back to the community but also encourage a sense of purpose and fulfillment among their workforce. Estarta strongly pushes volunteerism and believes in its integral role in shaping a better tomorrow.

With all of that said, Estarta promotes volunteerism among Estartans by providing many opportunities for them to volunteer. On top of that, these volunteering initiatives are done on company time, so the employee is not required to request leave.

In line with its collaborative approach to exchanging experiences, disseminating knowledge, and sharing its business model with local and international institutions, the Jordan Payments and Clearing Company “JoPACC” recently welcomed delegations from the Iraqi and Tunisian Central Banks, as well as the Tunisian Ministry of Finance, for a knowledge-sharing visit on June 21st and 22nd. The visit was organized in collaboration with the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) and in the presence of their representatives.

During these visits, the two delegations learned about JoPACC’s experience in managing and operating payment systems, managing system participant relationships, the company’s core areas of business, and its current projects. They were also briefed on the chronological evolution of digital payments in Jordan and the infrastructure needed to establish easy-to-use and resilient payment systems.

Both delegations were actively engaged in discussions and inquiries. Their aim was to seek solutions to address the respective challenges faced by their countries and explore the implementation of digital payment systems like those established and operated by JoPACC, taking into consideration the unique requirements of each country individually. The hope was that these efforts would contribute to the resolution of current issues and promote the adoption of effective payment solutions.

H.E. Maha Bahou, CEO of JoPACC, enthusiastically emphasized her team’s readiness and capability to conduct multiple exchange sessions with the visiting delegations and highlighted the company’s commitment to offering robust support, reflecting JoPACC’s dedication to promoting digital financial inclusion, particularly in neighboring Arab countries.

The two visiting delegations expressed their admiration for the remarkable progress achieved in Jordan’s digital payments infrastructure and particularly lauded JoPACC for its commitment to a partnership-based approach with all stakeholders in the financial sector. The delegations recognized JoPACC’s pivotal role in effectively operating and managing payment systems, facilitating fintech innovation, knowledge management, and business analytics which involves active participation from all entities within Jordan’s financial system.
