JoPACC through JOIN Fincubator Opens Applications for the First “Supply Chain Finance Corporate Challenge.”

The Jordan Payments and Clearing Company “JoPACC” through JOIN Fincubator, announced the opening of applications for the first-ever “Supply Chain Finance Corporate Challenge”. This challenge is supported by the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) and aims to find innovative solutions to the supply chain finance problems in Jordan. The challenge also seeks to provide financial solutions and strategic approaches to improve the seamless flow of funds, increase working capital, reduce financing costs, and enhance the overall operational efficiency within the supply chain network.

More specifically, this first-of-its-kind challenge in the Kingdom, focuses on Supply Chain Finance through “Reverse Factoring” and aims to introduce a “Proof of Concept” (POC) for innovative financial services applicable in commercial and/or Islamic banks. “Reverse Factoring” is a form of business financing that improves the cash flow for suppliers, allowing the supplier (the finance recipient) to obtain immediate short-term instant cash credit in exchange for submitting their invoices as collateral for financing. Reverse Factoring is done in exchange for a pre-determined discount fee (service fee) or an interest rate determined by the financing institution. This process also allows the buyer to receive extended payment periods for their outstanding invoices, reducing credit risks for financers in general.

The “Supply Chain Finance Corporate Challenge” will involve two phases: the first phase is to open applications for one month from the announcement date of the challenge. Within this initial phase, an induction workshop will be held for participating companies in the competition to provide them with information and the terms and conditions related to the challenge.  Then, participants will present their business models to a qualified jury panel to select the best ones and qualify participants for the second phase. The second phase will focus on finalizing each qualified company’s “Proof of Concept” (POC) and thoroughly inspecting their business models, to finally announce the winner during the final “Demo Day”. Moving forward, the winning company’s POC will then be implemented within 60 days of announcing the qualified companies.

The “Supply Chain Finance Corporate Challenge” sets the following eligibility criteria for accepting applications from companies interested in participating:

  • Companies registered in Jordan with a working product, and the company should not be the reseller or the solution distributor.
  • Companies not registered in Jordan, but one of the founders is Jordanian (must register the company in Jordan within 60 days of announcing qualified companies)
  • Non-registered Jordanian startups with a working Minimal Viable Product (MVP) (must be able to implement the POC and register the company in Jordan within 60 days of announcing qualified companies)

JoPACC’s objective, through this challenge, is to transform Jordan into a pivotal point for pioneering technological innovations that have a positive impact on the Kingdom, and the neighboring region while also facilitating their expansion into global markets.

A Recap of the Seventh WEPs Network Meeting

The Estarta PR ladies recently attended the seventh Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs) network meeting, which was held at the Grand Hyatt Amman, as part of ongoing efforts to promote gender equality and empower women in the workplace. This gathering of voices and viewpoints under the umbrella of UN Women addressed a wide range of crucial issues.

The Strength of Collaboration

The pursuit of gender equality is a shared goal at Estarta, and the company regularly participates in WEPs network meetings as just one example of its steadfast dedication to this cause. These events provide organizations with essential forums for cooperation, knowledge sharing, and group effort in the direction of a more gender-equitable and inclusive future.

A Rich Range of Topics

The seventh WEPs network conference was no different, as it covered a wide range of important topics with a significant impact on the workplace. Participants in the discussion covered everything from the universal issue of workplace safety—emphasizing its importance for both men and women—to the implementation of initiatives for employee wellbeing that place a high priority on their physical and emotional well-being.

Gender Equality as the Vanguard

The discussion of gender equality was surely one of the meeting’s main tenets. As it were, achieving gender equality is a lifelong undertaking that calls for vigilance and commitment.

A Pledge for the Better

The WEPs network gatherings serve as change agents rather than just forums for discussion. They stand as evidence of the group’s determination to confront the status quo and open the door to a more equitable and inclusive future. By actively participating in these discussions, Estarta shows its commitment to bringing about significant change both inside and outside the workplace.

Walking the Talk

It serves as a symbol of the business’ commitment to establishing an environment where everyone, regardless of gender, may succeed. For Estarta, a dedication to workplace diversity, equity, and inclusion is more than just a checkbox; it’s a core value.

Estarta is ready to take an active part in these game-changing discussions as the WEPs network meetings continue to be a light of cooperation and advancement.

MENA’s Telecom Operators Leverage Digitization to Keep Churn at its Lowest

Arab Advisors Group released a new telecommunication report entitled: Telecom Churn – Causal Factors, Mitigating Measures, and Announced Rates. The report presents real-life mitigating measures implemented by telecom operators and groups across 10 Arab countries to keep their churn at its lowest rates. Furthermore, Arab Advisors Group analyzed churn causers among those telecom operators and groups, categorizing them into voluntary and involuntary churn.

Churn rate is among various crucial indicators to track, especially for businesses that rely on recurring revenues or subscribers. Eliminating churn completely among enterprises is unachievable; hence, businesses are obliged to investigate churn causers and catalysts. Churn analysis complements the metric by pinpointing underlying causal factors which when tackled keeps churn at its lowest.

In this report, Arab Advisors Group analyzed a total of 25 telecom operators and groups across 10 Arab countries. The report “Telecom Churn – Causal Factors, Mitigating Measures, and Announced Rates”, which was released in September 2023, answers the below questions:

  • Which voluntary and involuntary churn causers have their toll on telecom operators and groups?
  • What are telcos’ adopted mitigating measures to keep churn at its lowest?
  • How transparent are the analyzed telecom operators and groups in terms of churn rates?
  • How do telecom operators and groups calculate their churn rates?
  • Do enforced governmental measures and guidelines contribute towards telecom churn?
  • What is the role of digitization in churn reduction?

“It’s axiomatic that unmet expectations concerning any service translate to churn. Zooming in on the telecom sector, operators work assiduously to provision exceptional services without degradation; realistically speaking, however, this is unattainable. Having said that, telecom operators are seen heavily upgrading their networks, refurbishing their plans and offerings, as well as elevating their customer care services in efforts to undermine the impact of churn on their subscriber bases.” Noted Hiba Rabadi, Arab Advisors Group’s Deputy General Manager.

“One noticeable observation among MENA’s telecom operators is their dependency on digitization to reduce churn. With access to novel, Internet-based technologies such as artificial intelligence (“AI”), big data, and machine learning, telecom operators are able to bolster their internal operations and introduce state-of-the-art support services, resulting in successful reduction in churn.” added Rabadi.

Please contact Arab Advisors Group for more details or to get a copy of the reports’ Table of Contents.
